We are a fast-growing cosmetic beauty company entering an exciting phase of scale, with anticipated distribution across DTC, TikTok Shop, Amazon FBA, international distribution and major U.S. retail partnerships. Our mission is to build a category-defining beauty brand through innovative products, operational excellence and exceptional customer experience.

We are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on Senior Director of Supply Chain & Operations to build, lead and optimize the end-to-end operational infrastructure of the company. This role will serve as a critical member of the leadership team reporting to the GM and will oversee all supply chain, operations, logistics, fulfillment, production, quality, regulatory, procurement and inventory management functions as the company rapidly scales.

Position Summary

The Senior Director of Supply Chain & Operations will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing scalable operational systems that support a high-growth omnichannel beauty business. This individual will oversee company operations across forecasting/demand planning, manufacturing, procurement, inventory management, freight and logistics, retail compliance, fulfillment operations, regulatory compliance and operations.

This leader must be equally comfortable operating strategically at the executive level while also driving day-to-day execution across suppliers, manufacturers, 3PL partners, retailers, freight providers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has significant experience within beauty, personal care, cosmetics, CPG, wellness or related consumer brands, particularly in high-growth omnichannel environments.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and execute the company’s end-to-end supply chain and operational strategy to support rapid growth across DTC, retail, Amazon FBA, TikTok Shop and international channels.
  • Build scalable operational processes, SOPs, systems, KPIs and reporting infrastructure.
  • Lead operational planning to ensure service levels, inventory targets, margin goals and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Establish scalable cross-functional operational workflows between sales, finance, marketing, product development, customer experience and executive leadership.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader responsible for supply continuity, inventory health and operational efficiency.

Demand Planning & Inventory Management

  • Own demand forecasting and inventory planning across all sales channels.
  • Develop and manage rolling forecasts, inventory models, safety stock requirements, reorder points and production schedules.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance in-stock performance, cash flow and working capital.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy across warehouses, 3PLs, Amazon FBA and international partners.
  • Manage inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, aging inventory, obsolescence and shrinkage.
  • Oversee works-in-process (WIP), finished goods inventory and inventory movement tracking.

Manufacturing & Production Management

  • Manage all third-party manufacturing relationships and production partners.
  • Negotiate and oversee manufacturing agreements, production timelines, service levels and pricing.
  • Coordinate production schedules to support new launches, replenishment, promotional events and retail expansion.
  • Monitor manufacturing capacity planning and supplier performance.
  • Partner with product development teams to support commercialization and product launch readiness.
  • Ensure bill of materials (BOMs), standard costing and production records are accurately maintained.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production quality, cost, lead times and operational efficiency.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Lead all sourcing, procurement and purchasing activities for raw materials, components, packaging, finished goods and operational services.
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships domestically and internationally.
  • Negotiate vendor pricing, payment terms, MOQs, lead times and service agreements.
  • Implement supplier scorecards and vendor performance management processes.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, margin improvement and supply risk mitigation.
  • Oversee purchase order issuance, approvals, tracking and reconciliation.

Logistics, Freight & Fulfillment

  • Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics operations.
  • Manage domestic and international freight, parcel shipping, freight forwarding, customs coordination and freight-in/freight-out strategy.
  • Own relationships with 3PL fulfillment providers and warehouse partners.
  • Ensure operational excellence across receiving, warehousing, shipping, returns and fulfillment SLAs.
  • Optimize shipping costs, routing, carrier selection and delivery performance.
  • Develop scalable retail routing, retailer compliance and EDI capabilities for nationwide retail distribution.
  • Support omnichannel fulfillment operations across DTC, TikTok Shop, Amazon FBA, wholesale and international distribution.
  • Oversee operational readiness for major retailer onboarding and compliance requirements.

Retail Operations & EDI

  • Lead operational integration and compliance with major U.S. retail partners.
  • Oversee implementation and management of EDI systems and retail operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with retailer routing guides, OTIF metrics, ASN requirements, labeling standards, chargeback prevention and replenishment requirements.
  • Coordinate operational readiness for retail launches, promotional activity and replenishment programs.

Quality, Regulatory & Compliance

  • Oversee all quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC) and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Ensure products comply with FDA regulations, MoCRA requirements, retailer compliance standards (WERCS) and applicable international regulations.
  • Manage product testing, specifications, batch records, COAs and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain quality management systems and supplier quality programs.
  • Lead issue resolution related to quality incidents, recalls, CAPAs and corrective actions.
  • Ensure operational compliance with all applicable safety, labeling, transportation, import/export and industry standards.

Financial & Operational Performance

  • Own operational budgeting, forecasting and cost management initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize COGS, freight spend, warehousing costs, fulfillment costs and inventory carrying costs.
  • Partner with finance on inventory valuation, margin analysis, accruals and operational reporting.
  • Drive operational KPIs including fill rate, OTIF, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, service levels, lead times and fulfillment performance.
  • Identify and execute process improvements that improve profitability, scalability and operational resilience.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing operations and supply chain organization.
  • Recruit, mentor and develop team members as the company scales across operations, logistics, procurement, planning and compliance functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, agility, collaboration and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering or related field preferred; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain and operations leadership experience, preferably within beauty, haircare, skincare, cosmetics, personal care, wellness or consumer packaged goods.
  • Proven experience scaling operations within a high-growth omnichannel consumer brand.
  • Strong experience managing 3PLs, domestic and international freight, fulfillment operations and retailer compliance.
  • Deep expertise in demand planning, inventory management, production planning, procurement and supplier management.
  • Experience supporting Amazon FBA, DTC, wholesale, nationwide retail, TikTok Shop and international distribution operations.
  • Strong understanding of EDI, retailer routing guides, OTIF requirements, ASN management and retail logistics.
  • Experience managing manufacturing partners and contract manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of FDA cosmetic regulations, MoCRA, QA/QC systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing COGS, BOMs, inventory valuation and operational budgets.
  • Advanced ERP, inventory management, forecasting and supply chain systems experience.
  • Experience launching or scaling products into major national retail accounts.
  • Experience with international sourcing and global supply chain operations.
  • Prior startup or founder-led business experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the CEO & GM and will work closely with finance, sales, marketing, product development and external operational partners.
